What is switching power supply?
A Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS), also known as a switching power supply or switching converter, is a high-frequency power conversion device and a type of power supply. Its function is to convert a specific voltage level into the voltage or current required by the user through various types of circuits.
Elevator switch power supply is a critical component in modern elevator systems, providing stable and efficient power conversion for various elevator subsystems. It ensures that the elevator’s control systems, motors, sensors, and other electronic components receive the appropriate voltage levels to operate reliably and safely.
The main role of a typical power supply is to convert the incoming AC mains voltage (AC 110V/220V) into several low-voltage DC outputs required by hardware, such as 3.3V, 5V, 12V, and -12V, through an isolation switch and buck converter circuit. It also provides a 5V standby (5VSB) function for the computer when it is in standby mode. Therefore, this power supply is equipped with high-voltage and high-power components.
Voltage Range of Elevator Switch Mode Power Supply
The voltage range of elevator SMPS includes DC 110V, DC 24V, DC 5V, DC 12V, AC 380V, and AC 220V, etc. These voltages are used for different components and functions, such as:
- DC 0.4-0.6V: For serial communication signal lines
- DC 5V: For the main unit’s sine and cosine encoder power lines
- DC 8V: For the main unit’s incremental encoder power lines
- DC 12V: For elevator emergency power output, intercom power lines, emergency lights, and alarms
- DC 15V: For the elevator door motor incremental encoder power lines
- DC 24V: For elevator photoelectric sensors, light curtains, RS14 board outputs, brake coil voltages, and AT120 door machine controller box power
- DC 30V: For counters, strong switch replacements, and RS5 board outputs
- DC 48V: For the main machine brake coil voltages
- DC 120V: For elevator AT400 door machine controller box power supply
- AC 110V: For safety circuits, door circuit voltages, relays, contactor coil voltages, and counters
- AC 220V: For elevator cabin lighting, emergency power input, counters, or elevator DO2000 and NGSOK door controller box supply power
- AC 380V: For elevator inverter input voltages and phase sequence input voltages
Elevator Switching Power Supply is an essential component that ensures proper power distribution, energy efficiency, and safety in an elevator system.Keeping maintenance and replacement are essential to ensure the continued reliability and optimal performance of the elevator switching power supply.
